Job summary

The Project Accountant at Solaris Energy Infrastructure, Inc. in Houston will manage project-level costs, analyze variances, and prepare cost reports to support month-end close. You will work with Operations, Billing, and Finance to ensure costs are properly captured and billed per contracts.

Responsibilities include month-over-month cost analysis, project P&Ls, and coordinating with the billing team to ensure timely invoicing while maintaining accurate project ledgers in NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• 3–5+ years of direct accounting experience with project focus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience in project costing and revenue recognition is a plus.
• NetSuite experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze projects and job costs on a month-over-month basis and explain variances.
• Evaluate costs incurred and bills issued against contracts for proper classification.
• Attend weekly project meetings to stay informed on status and new projects.
• Coordinate with billing to ensure timely invoicing and resolve discrepancies.
• Record and review project cost journal entries, accruals, and cost allocations in NetSuite.
• Prepare month-end close deliverables including project P&Ls and cost reports.
