Project Account – Construction Management

Rapidly growing Newark based construction management firm has an opening for a Project Accountant.This person should have experience with construction project cost accounting, percentage completion accounting, AIA requisition processing, AP, AR, reconciliations, month, and year-end experience.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position that requires a strong understanding of percent completion accounting. This applicant should have a background in Vista Viewpoint software. You will work closely with our project managers and other team members to ensure financial transparency and accuracy throughout the life cycle of our construction projects.

Responsibilities:

As a Construction Project Accountant, your main responsibility will be to manage all financial aspects of our construction projects. This includes but is not limited to:

1. Managing all aspects of project accounting, including job cost tracking.

2. Utilizing Vista Viewpoint software to input and track financial data.

3. Preparing and updating AIA requisition, project budgets and forecasts.

4. Reviewing and approving subcontractor and vendor invoices.

5. Ensuring accurate and timely percent completion accounting.

6. Preparing financial reports for project managers and senior management and clients.

7. Assisting with internal and external audits.

8. Working with project managers and other team members to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.

9. Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.

10. Ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. A minimum of 4 years of experience in construction project accounting.

3. Experience with percentage completion accounting.

4. Proficiency in using Vista Viewpoint software.

5. Experience with AIA requisition processing.

6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

8. The ability to work well in a team and independently.

9. A keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

10. The ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
