Job summary

Advocate Health's 15-bed Progressive Care Unit in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced nurse leader to support the manager in delivering high-quality intermediate care. This 3x12-hour shift schedule emphasizes collaboration, clinical judgement, and patient-centered care.

The role requires RN licensure, a BSN, and at least two years of nursing experience with management preferred. The unit emphasizes compliance with federal/state laws, staff development, and effective communication during rounds

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required; BSN enrollment within 1 year if not yet completed.
• Minimum two years nursing experience; management experience preferred.
• BLS and professional certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager with nursing practice quality and delivery of care.
• Assists with interviewing, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates shift communications and staff huddles to exchange information.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws and internal policies.
• Rounds on patients, staff, and physicians to assess care and operations.
• Delegates care to appropriate healthcare workers per policy.
• Assists in setting outcomes and tracking progress toward goals.
• Evaluates progress and shares updates with care teams.
• Performs nursing care, therapies, and administers medications as needed.
