Job summary

Mission Hospital, located in Asheville, North Carolina, is hiring a Progressive Care Registered Nurse for a 44-bed stepdown unit that handles trauma, neurosciences, surgery, and oncology stepdown patients. You will assess patients, provide perioperative and post-operative care, and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

The role requires a BSN or enrollment with BSN within five years, NC RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• BSN required or enrolled with BSN within 5 years; exemptions may apply.
• Preferred Master's in Nursing.
• Current North Carolina RN license; eNLC may apply.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift.
• Perform procedures as ordered by the physician.
• Document care in the medical record timely and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of meds, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
