Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina seeks an RN Nursing Manager for a 15-bed Progressive Care Unit. The role supports patient care quality and staff leadership on a mid-shift weekend schedule (Fri–Sun, 11a–11p).

You will supervise nursing personnel, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate care delivery across shifts in a fast-paced environment. BSN and active RN licensure required; two years of nursing experience with leadership preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and RN licensure in the appropriate state.
• BSN required; enrollment in BSN program allowed within 1 year of hire and completion within 3 years of enrollment.
• Minimum two years nursing experience; management experience preferred; BLS certification required within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supports the manager to enhance nursing practice and care delivery in the department.
• Assists with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinates communication across shifts via staff meetings/huddles to exchange information.
• Ensures understanding and compliance with federal/state laws, healthcare services and policies.
• Rounds on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess care and operations.
• Delegates care to appropriate healthcare workers according to policy.
• Identifies expected outcomes and monitors progress toward goals for continuity of care/operations.
• Evaluates progress toward outcomes and disseminates information to the care team.
• Performs nursing care, assists with treatments, therapies and medications as needed.
• Manages patient flow and staffing based on volume and acuity.
