Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a dedicated Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time, on-site role in Great Falls, Montana. This PCU position focuses on caring for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized medical management in a step-down environment.

The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care, maintain optimal nurse-to-patient ratios, and support ongoing clinical development within a supportive hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in Montana or endorsement.
• Active RN license required; compact/endorsement eligible considered.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or obtained within 6 months.
• Post-graduate clinical experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical unit or PCU/stepdown.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized, direct nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on an advanced medical/surgical and stepdown unit.
• Manage a broad and diverse patient population, including pre/post-PCI care, pacemaker placements, revascularization, and other complex cases.
• Utilize assessment tools to monitor for deterioration and stabilize patients.
• Operate and manage advanced medical equipment (arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, NG tubes, short-term ventilatory support).
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams from admission through discharge planning.
• Serve as a clinical floor leader, assisting with precepting staff and supporting LPNs/CNAs.
