Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Progressive Care (Step-down) Registered Nurse at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. You will provide high‑quality nursing care on the PCU, act as the bridge between Med-Surg and ICU, and develop care plans to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include ongoing assessments, coordinating care with multiple disciplines, administering meds safely, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. BSN preferred; RN licensure required.

Qualifications

• 1 year RN experience required.
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Current state RN license; BLS/ACLS preferred at time of hire (ACLS required within 6 months).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; develop and evaluate care plans.
• Serve as point of contact for patients’ care coordination across departments.
• Act as patient safety advocate by participating in quality improvement in the department.
• Administer medications safely according to policies.
