Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in CS/MIS/IT with five years of related full-time experience, or nine years total with related education/experience.
  • Experience with SQL query techniques and relational databases.
  • Ability to develop SQL scripts and Cognos reports.
  • Ability to supervise/lead development of new systems and analyze feasibility and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provides functional and technical expertise relating to all department applications and the student database; includes SQL and reporting.
  • Creates and modifies student data reports; analyzes data and provides recommendations.
  • Provides ad hoc and standardized reports to user areas and supports Institutional Data Analytics with reporting needs.
  • Manages technical procedures that support office operations, new initiatives, and projects.
  • Assists with required reports for federal, state, and other agencies.
  • Maintains accuracy and integrity of automated data processing system practices and reports.
  • Develops SQL scripts and Cognos reports for projects.

Position Description

The Programmer Analyst IV's role is to assist with the developmentof project plans to test, analyze, and maintain softwareapplications in support of business requirements. This position isalso responsible for supervising and/or leading the development ofnew systems, directing changes to existing systems, controlling theinterfaces between the systems, initiating complex feasibilitystudies, and making recommendations for actions to be taken. Theposition is also expected to assist senior departmental managementin determining the strategic IT direction for the area and/or unitand, as such, may interface with key IT leadership. Discretion andsound judgment is expected.

Major/Essential Functions

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, orother related area plus five (5) years related full-time paidexperience OR a combination of related education and/or experienceto equal nine (9) years.
