Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock seeks a Coordinator - Admissions Coach to supervise and coordinate admissions activities. You will evaluate transcripts, advise applicants, and lead campus tours for prospective students, guiding them through the admissions process and meeting academic requirements.

You will maintain communications, support application processing, and supervise student workers while presenting opportunities to diverse candidate pools.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation plus five years progressively responsible related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or higher may substitute for experience.
  • Experience with admissions processes and customer service in higher education.
  • Experience using CRM and ERP systems within a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

  • Transcript Evaluation: review transcripts and record transfer credits per TTUHSC policies.
  • Advising: provide timely advising to prospective students for nursing programs via Zoom, phone, or in-person.
  • Campus Tours: lead tours of TTUHSC Lubbock campus, including SimLife Center.
  • Ongoing Communication: maintain contact with prospective students via phone, email, and in person.
  • Application Support: assist Admissions Coordinators with processing applications and docs.
  • Record Keeping: maintain accurate applicant records in the admissions database.
  • Supervision: supervise student assistants and ensure task accuracy.
  • Presentations: deliver presentations about admissions and nursing programs to groups.
  • Recruitment Support: attend orientations and recruitment events to support the team.

Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Transcript Evaluation: Review and assess incoming transcripts for applicants to determine and officially record equivalent transfer credits for both non-nursing pre-requisite courses and Texas Core Curriculum requirements, in accordance with TTUHSC policies and Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board guidelines.
  • Advising: Provide accurate and timely advising to prospective students for all nursing programs, through Zoom, phone, or in-person sessions, to guide them through the admissions process and academic requirements.
  • Campus Tours: Lead informative tours of the TTUHSC Lubbock campus, including the SimLife Center, for prospective students.
  • Ongoing Communication: Maintain consistent communication with prospective students and applicants throughout the admissions process via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Application Support: Assist Admissions Coordinators and the Director of Admissions with processing applications, ensuring that all required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure accurate, up-to-date records for all applicants are maintained in the admissions database.
  • Supervision: Provide guidance and oversight to student assistants, as needed, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Presentations: Deliver clear and engaging presentations about the admissions process and nursing programs to both small and large groups.
  • Recruitment Support: Attend orientations and other recruitment events, as needed, to support the Recruitment team.

  • Experience verifyingTexas Core Curriculumand academic program requirements.

Visa Information
