Job summary

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities – Brief Description

The Consultant will be responsible for the following duties:

• Oversee a portfolio of projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities, while monitoring project performance, risks, opportunities, and required corrective actions.
• Manage stakeholder communication and expectations across the project portfolio and provide regular portfolio and project updates to senior management.
• Ensure projects follow established PMO governance standards, frameworks, and best practices, including project reviews, quality monitoring, risk management, and timely escalation of issues.
• Support the design, implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) platform, including portfolio structures, workflows, dashboards, reporting, governance processes, and data quality.
• Support SPM implementation activities including process design, data readiness, testing, stakeholder engagement, adoption, portfolio workflows, resource management, and benefits-tracking capabilities.
• Continuously evaluate and improve PMO tools and processes to strengthen project tracking, portfolio reporting, governance, and overall project management effectiveness.
• Support Fund-wide critical projects and work closely with project managers to strengthen delivery, address complex project issues, and achieve optimum results.
• Mentor and guide project managers and promote effective collaboration across cross-functional teams while fostering continuous improvement in project management practices.
• Work with senior leadership to support portfolio prioritization, demand management, resource and capacity planning, benefits tracking, and alignment of projects with organizational strategic objectives.
• Maintain and enhance project and portfolio performance reports and executive dashboards covering portfolio health, prioritization, resource and capacity information, risks, benefits, and critical milestones.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and promote consistency in project management and reporting practices across the portfolio.
• Collaborate with Risk Management, Security, the Business Transformation Unit, Communications, and project teams to support risk mitigation, security requirements, process reengineering, change management, and project communications.
• Work with the license provider and system integrator supporting critical projects to maintain effective vendor relationships and smooth project operations.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Applicants must clearly address the following criteria in their application:

• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, economics, computer science, information systems or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Demonstrated experience applying Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) practices in a PMO or enterprise portfolio environment is required.
• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or related area is required.
• Experience in successfully managing and completing complex project(s) in a multicultural environment is required.
• A professional certification in project management, such as Project in Controlled Environment Version 2 (PRINCE2), Project Management Professional (PMP) or any other equivalent project management certification, is required.
• Knowledge of Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) concepts, processes and methodologies is required.
• Experience working with a Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) platform to support portfolio planning, prioritization, governance, demand/project management, resource and capacity management, benefits tracking and portfolio reporting is required.
• Experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), including implementation, configuration and/or operational use, is desirable.
• Working experience in the pension (or financial) ERP system is required.
• Experience in implementing projects and Programs end to end including process improvement, Project planning and implementation, Project tracking, documentation, reporting and dashboard is required.
• System design knowledge is desirable.
• Understanding of the UN system is desirable.
