Job summary

United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) in New York seeks a consultant to lead an enterprise-wide project management tool implementation. You will gather requirements, evaluate vendors, and plan go-live with governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or Project Management; a first-level degree may be accepted with two additional qualifying years.
• Five (5) years of proven experience in project management and stakeholder engagement is required.
• Proven track record leading enterprise-wide project management tool implementations (1–3).
• Experience in highly regulated or financial institutions is desirable.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel).
• Ability to track status, raise alerts, and maintain up-to-date status.
• Ability to plan, organize, and oversee project stages.
• Proficiency in designing workflows and process mapping.
• PRINCE2/ PMI/ Agile / Scrum Master certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate selection and implementation of an enterprise-wide project management tool with key stakeholders.
• Develop detailed process maps, technical requirements, and future-state workflows.
• Develop RFIs and support RFPs, including criteria and scoring methodologies.
• Create vendor evaluation frameworks, comparison matrices, business cases, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Establish governance, lifecycle standards, templates, workflows, and reporting procedures.
• Develop executive status reports, dashboards, KPIs, adoption metrics, and risk/issue reports.
• Engage stakeholders to create the implementation roadmap and support change management.
• Monitor progress, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies; report and escalate.
• Coordinate with the vendor on go-live, UAT, deployment checklists, and post-go-live checks.
• Develop SOPs and documentation for ongoing PM tool administration.
• Lead project closure, lessons learned, knowledge transfer, and handover.

Job Responsibilities – Brief Description

The Consultant will be responsible for the following duties:

• Lead and coordinate the selection and implementation of an enterprise-wide project and program management tool, working closely with the Project Management Team and key stakeholders across the organization.
• Develop detailed process maps, technical requirements, and future-state workflows to support the implementation of the selected project management solution.
• Develop and launch the Request for Information (RFI) and support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including technical and functional requirements, vendor evaluation criteria, and scoring methodologies.
• Develop vendor evaluation frameworks, comparison matrices, recommendation reports, business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and procurement evaluation documentation.
• Establish and maintain project governance, including project lifecycle standards, roles and responsibilities, templates, workflows, reporting standards, and tool administration procedures.
• Develop and maintain executive status reports, project board presentations, KPIs, adoption dashboards, benefits realization tracking, and risk and issue reports.
• Engage with stakeholders across the organization to develop the implementation roadmap, coordinate project activities, and support change management and adoption.
• Monitor project progress, milestones, risks, issues, and dependencies and provide timely reporting and escalation to relevant stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the selected vendor on implementation activities, including the go-live plan, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment checklists, and post-go-live checks.
• Develop standard operating procedures and supporting documentation for the ongoing administration and use of the project management tool.
• Lead project closure activities, including lessons learned, knowledge transfer, operational support handover, final acceptance, and sign-off.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Applicants must clearly address the following criteria in their application:

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Project Management, or a similar field. A first-level degree may be accepted in combination with two more qualifying years of experience.
• Five (5) years of proven experience in project management and stakeholder engagement is required.
• Proven track record of leading at least one to three enterprise-wide project management tool implementations is required (such as ClickUp, ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management, etc.).
• At least five (5) years of experience operating within highly regulated or financial institutions is desired.
• Proficiency working with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, Excel).
• Ability to effectively track project status, raise alerts, and keep an up-to-date status.
• Ability to effectively plan, organize, and oversee the different stages of the project.
• Proficiency in designing workflows and mapping processes.
• PRINCE2 Certification, PMI, Agile, or Scrum Master.

This consultancy offers:

• The opportunity to lead an enterprise-wide project management technology implementation within the Office of Investment Management of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund.
• Experience managing the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and vendor selection through implementation, go-live, and operational handover.

Total Remuneration

USD 4,900 – 7,800 (monthly)
