The incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant to the Director of the Primary Care Service Line and office manager for the Executive Office at the VA Boston Healthcare System (Jamaica Plain campus).

GS-06 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: The incumbent has full responsibility for planning, developing, and directing key administrative and program support functions that are essential to the daily administration and performance of the Primary Care Executive Office. The incumbent provides comprehensive administrative and program support to all members of the executive team and serves as a primary point of contact for Primary Care staff system-wide throughout VA Boston Healthcare System. Primary Care is a complex service line with nine primary care practices and five clinical programs across eight campuses and the incumbent must perform effectively in a broad variety of situations involving administrative coordination of both clinic and educational activities. Duties and responsibilities encompass a broad variety of program support and office operations including but not limited to administrative functions (scheduling and maintaining calendars, preparing and managing correspondence, and maintaining electronic and paper information systems) and program and operations support (timekeeping, coordination of daily clinical and administrative activities, ordering supplies for staff system-wide, and facilitation of leadership and other service meetings).
