Job summary

WellLife Network in Dix Hills, NY is seeking a Program Social Worker/Supervisor to oversee clinical operations of the Children’s Community Residence. The role balances counseling, supervision, and administrative tasks in a trauma-informed residential setting to support transition-aged youth.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in social work (or related field) with experience with Serious Emotional Disturbance youth, strong crisis management, and a NY driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field preferred; BSW or related bachelor’s degree with substantial experience considered.
• At least 1 year of experience working with youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance and their families; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong crisis management, clinical judgment, counseling, and care coordination skills; knowledge of OMH and OSHA standards.
• New York State driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 clinical and crisis support to staff, youth, and families.
• Assist with staff orientation, training, and supervision; ensure OMH/OSHA standards.
• Guide staff in counseling techniques, trauma-informed engagement, and behavioral interventions.
• Coordinate admission process and attend community and referral meetings; provide intake counseling.
• Participate in Medicaid billing and documentation of clinical services.
• Complete Medicaid and SSI applications for eligible residents; maintain referral logs.
• Support fiscal management by assisting with budget planning and resource allocation.
• Coordinate educational and vocational support; maintain school contacts and attend CSE meetings.
• Provide ongoing individual and family counseling; promote emotional regulation and goal achievement.
• Collaborate with families, staff, and service providers on Service Plan goals and discharge plans.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic group sessions.
• Lead quarterly family team meetings and family counseling sessions.
• Maintain thorough documentation of counseling sessions and service contacts.
• Provide transportation for youth as needed.
• Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives; ensure OMH standards compliance.
• Attend workshops and training to maintain licensure.
• Manage administrative tasks including time tracking, mileage, and insurance documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
