Job summary

San José State University in San José, CA, seeks a Program Specialist to lead Off-Campus/Public and Corporate programs within Engineering Extended Studies. You will develop, manage, and administer programs, work with academic coordinators to hire faculty, and provide excellent customer service to instructors and students.

Reporting to the Faculty Associate Dean, you will conduct market research, analyze policy, support online and in-person programs, and help with strategic planning.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training.
• Two years of administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs.

Responsibilities

• Manages coordination, development and administration of Off-Campus/Public and Corporate programs.
• Works with academic coordinators to determine and hire appropriate faculty to teach.
• Communicates with individual students and faculty on routine issues and those issues which may be new or controversial. Researches and proposes solutions with acceptable outcomes.
• Contributes to the strategic planning of Extended Studies programmatic goals.
• Performs market research and analysis to determine the viability of new programs.
• Performs research and analysis of current policies to ensure EES compliance.
• Develops assessment tools related to student success.
• Performs in-depth analysis of feedback from student assessments.
• Develops opportunities for outreach and student recruitment.
• Organizes events with local industry executives and professional organizations.
