Job summary

The University of Idaho invites applications for the IMPACT Program Specialist in Moscow. This part‑time, hybrid/remote position provides day‑to‑day coordination for a federally funded personnel preparation project that supports paraeducators in completing degree and certification requirements to become special education teachers.

Duties include coordinating office operations, tracking schedules and cycles, planning meetings, assisting with budgets and proposals, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

  • Three years of administrative, business operations or program support experience.
  • Composing, proofreading and editing a variety of documents with proper grammar and punctuation.
  • Using computer software for word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet research.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate office operations and track program schedules and cycles.
  • Plan and coordinate program meetings and events.
  • Assist with budgets and funding proposals and related processes.
  • Research and compile information for communications and reports.
  • Coordinate data collection for reports and other documents.
  • Maintain liaison with offices, partners, and advisory boards.
  • Support financial and/or personnel processes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Posting Context Statement:

The IMPACT Program Specialist provides day-to-day coordination fora federally funded personnel preparation project that supportsparaeducators in completing degree and certification requirementsto become special education teachers. The position coordinatesscholar support, project activities, partner communication, datacollection, reporting, and administrative processes. The positionreports to the Principal Investigator and works closely withproject faculty, university offices, mentors, school partners, andscholars.

Position Overview:

This position performs a complex mix of duties in support ofproject or program development and delivery.

Duties may include:

  • Coordinate office operations
  • Document and tracking program schedules and businesscycles
  • Plan and coordinate program meetings and events
  • Support program planning and may assist with the development ofoperating budgets and/or funding proposals
  • Research and compile information for communications such astalking points, speech scripts and responses to correspondence andpresentations
  • Coordinate collection of data and materials for reports andother administrative documents
  • Develop and maintain positive liaison relationships withvarious offices, customers and stakeholders including internal andadvisory boards
  • May assist with budget management and provide support forfinancial and/or personnel processes
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Three years providing administrative, business operationsand/or program support
  • Composing, proofing and editing a variety of documents, usingproper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in applicationmaterials
  • Using computer software and applications for word processing,developing spreadsheets, email and internet research

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Other:

  • None

Additional Preferred:

Education: Preferred - Bachelor's degree in education,administration, project management, student services, or a relatedfield

Additional Preferred - Master's degree in a related field

Experience:

  • Knowledge of special education, disability services, educatorpreparation, or teacher certification
  • Experience supporting paraeducators, adult learners, or othernontraditional students
  • Experience with grant administration, budget tracking, programevaluation, or data reporting
  • Experience working with rural or community-based educationpartners
  • Experience coordinating a program, project, grant, orstudent-support initiative
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonalskills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively withvaried stakeholders
  • Experience maintaining records, tracking activities, andpreparing reports
