Job summary

The American College of Surgeons is seeking a Trauma Systems Program Manager to provide project and program management support for multiple program areas, with a focus on Rural Trauma and related initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this exempt position is based in Chicago with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote).

Responsibilities include operational management, program development, committee support, data collection, and cross-functional coordination to improve trauma

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required.
  • At least 2-5+ years of professional project/program coordination or management experience is required.
  • Experience in associations, professional societies, healthcare, or healthcare administration is desired.
  • Experience working with committees and cross-functional teams is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Qualtrics and/or Survey Monkey a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem solving, and leadership skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Summary: The Trauma Systems Program Manager provides project and program management support that fosters development and sustainment of several key ACS Committee on Trauma (COT) Program Areas.

The Program Manager provides day-to-day leadership and coordination for multiple Trauma Systems Program Areas, with a primary focus on advancing Rural Trauma initiatives while supporting Injury Prevention, Trauma Systems Consultation, and Advocacy programs. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, this role helps plan, implement, and sustain strategic initiatives that strengthen trauma systems and improve patient outcomes.

The Program Manager coordinates program operations, facilitates workgroup activities, collaborates on the development of educational resources and tools, and ensures effective communication among a broad network of stakeholders.

This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Trauma Systems and Injury Prevention in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,500 - $75,000 (commensurate with related experience).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Management
