Full-time 22960 Venture Dr, Novi, MI 48375

Automotive, Electric Vehicles (EV), Industrial Automation

We are hiring a Program Manager – Industrial Automation to lead end-to-end delivery of complex automation programs for US Automotive and EV manufacturing customers — from contract award through system integration, commissioning, and production launch. A high-ownership, techno-commercial role for a driven professional who can manage distributed cross-functional teams and deliver automation solutions on time, on budget, and to specification.

Role Overview

Own, drive, and deliver industrial automation programs for OEM and Tier 1 Automotive and EV customers — managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and cross-functional teams across globally distributed engineering and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Single point of accountability from commercial award through FAT, SAT, SOP, and production support
  • Develop and manage program plans, milestone schedules, APQP deliverables, and stage-gate reviews
  • Own program budget: capital expenditures, tooling costs, engineering hours, and margin performance
  • Translate customer requirements into executable build plans with clear specifications and timelines
  • Manage supplier selection, PO issuance, tooling tracking, and capacity planning
  • Lead customer-facing program reviews with milestone reporting and transparent risk communication
  • Ensure PPAP documentation, control plans, and material certifications are submitted per customer timing
  • Manage ECRs, deviation approvals, and production change notices (PCNs)
  • Track and resolve critical path risks using structured risk registers and stakeholder communication
  • Support pre-sales: RFQ review, technical scope validation, and timeline feasibility assessment
  • Report program performance, delivery status, and customer satisfaction to senior leadership
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics) or Operations Management (required)
  • PMP certification strongly preferred; Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
  • 7+ years of program management in industrial automation or capital equipment environments
  • Deep knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and automotive launch readiness per AIAG standards
  • Proven track record delivering automation programs on time and on budget for OEM/Tier 1 customers
  • Strong commercial acumen: manage program margin, identify scope creep, protect budget performance
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams across multiple geographies
  • EV automation program experience is a strong differentiator
  • Ownership mindset: treats every program as their own business, accountable for outcome
  • Techno-commercial balance: engages technically with engineers and commercially with procurement
  • Exceptional organizational ability: managing 3–6 concurrent programs across geographies
  • Proactive risk identification: anticipates and mitigates problems early
  • Clear, structured communication: customer-facing reports, internal reviews, executive summaries
  • Strong cross-functional relationship management between customers and internal delivery teams
  • Self-driven and entrepreneurial in a high-growth business environment
  • Growth potential: path to Director-level as the business scales
