Job summary

Anawim Housing in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Program Manager to oversee housing stability services for homeless individuals with complex needs. You will coordinate with the Permanent Supportive Housing team and social service agencies to support participants in securing housing and meeting case plan goals.

The role requires strong communication, case management experience, and the ability to work within HUD guidelines and grant-funded programs.

Qualifications

• Preferred BA/BS degree in Human Services or related fields.
• Experience with management of an apartment complex or homeless shelter is preferred.
• Experience with homeless populations and related health issues is preferred.
• Familiarity with case management systems.
• Requires knowledge of treatment issues and coordinating housing and mainstream services.
• Uses computer for word processing and data entry.
• Good verbal and written communication with participants, agencies and landlords.
• Requires basic mathematical and programming knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes Motivational Interviewing, Stage Matched, De-escalation and Person Centered practices to partner with participants to achieve housing stability.
• Works with participants and agencies to develop person-centered case plans and goals.
• Collaborates with Centralized Intake in referrals of participants.
• Assists participants in locating appropriate units that meet housing needs.
• Facilitates intake, sublease obligations and monitoring to meet case plan goals.
• Locates scattered site rental properties and arranges lease/sublease to maximize grant funds.
• Facilitates problem solving with participants and property managers on tenancy issues.
• Completes home visits to ensure ongoing monitoring and stability.
• Maintains HMIS data entry and HUD-compliant file records.
• Maintains compliance with HUD and housing regulations.
• Maintains communication with participants, landlords and service agencies for long-term stability.
• Develops a resource list of employment opportunities for participants.
• Conducts move-ins/move-outs with participants and property managers.
• Ensures safety standards per OSHA and Anawim Housing policies.
