Job summary

North Raleigh Ministries (NRM) seeks a Program Manager to lead and oversee food security programs, ensuring compliant, dignified client services and strong staff support. The role collaborates across CARE Services to sustain program quality and community engagement.

The incumbent will supervise staff and volunteers, coordinate scheduling and training, and drive outcome-focused reporting while maintaining partnerships with food sourcing entities and community partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, nonprofit management, or related field.
• 3–5 years of program management experience in food insecurity or human services.
• Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with data tracking, reporting, and outcome measurement.
• Ability to build community partnerships; commitment to dignity and trauma-informed practices.
• ServSafe certification preferred within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing professional development for the Food Pantry Manager and program staff.
• Oversee staff scheduling, PTO planning, and coverage to ensure consistent program operations.
• Facilitate regular staff meetings to support teamwork, planning, and continuous learning; ensure adequate staff and volunteer coverage for operations.
• Ensure Food Pantry Manager maintains volunteer recruitment, scheduling, and retention to meet program needs.
• Provide oversight for quarterly volunteer meetings, ongoing training, and recognition efforts.
• Interview candidates for program vacancies in coordination with the Director of Programs.
• Provide backup coverage and support to other CARE Services program areas to ensure continuity of services.
• Ensure a positive, client-centered experience for all program participants and timely resolution of concerns.
• Maintain accurate program data entry and assist with monthly/annual reports.
• Support grant reporting and special projects by gathering required program outcomes.
