Job summary

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is seeking a full-time Deputy Director for Special Populations to lead disability housing programs within the Multifamily Housing Unit. This senior role requires strong policy experience in affordable rental housing and a track record of guiding complex programs.

You will collaborate with state, local, and federal partners, oversee program utilization and reporting, and represent DHCD in briefings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• At least four years of professional experience in rental/assisted housing or development with a proven record of analyzing risks and negotiating complex real estate transactions.
• Two years of general supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage programs under the director's direction, including utilization and oversight of disability housing and rental assistance programs.
• Conduct research and prepare reports; lead meetings and briefings on diverse housing topics.
• Collaborate with state, local, and federal officials, owners, management companies, developers, and advocacy groups to advance affordable rental housing and energy efficiency.
