Job summary

Merakey is seeking a Program Instructor specializing in Communication Disorders to join our Philadelphia, PA program. You will provide engaging, supportive, and structured activities for adults with developmental disabilities, helping them develop skills for independence and quality of life.

The role features a schedule of 7a-3:30p, Monday through Friday, with earning of $21.00 with degree or $19.00 without degree plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred; candidates with High School Diploma and IDD experience will be considered.
• Position requires a high degree of flexibility, creativity, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Candidate ideally possesses a background in speech and hearing.
• Valid and Current Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Adult Day Program activities covering vocational training, independent living skills, and cognitive/social development.
• Support individuals in developing computer and basic technology skills.
• Encourage participation and adapt activities to meet individual needs.
• Maintain a positive, flexible, and person-centered approach.
• Collaborate with team to support individualized goals.

The Program Instructor provides engaging, supportive, and structured activities for adults with developmental disabilities. This role plays a vital part in helping individuals develop skills that promote independence, confidence, and quality of life.

  • Mobility, sensory, and perceptual motor skills
• Support individuals in developing computer and basic technology skills
• Encourage participation while adapting activities to meet individual needs

• Collaborate with team members to support individualized goal
