Job summary

Merakey is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to join our School team in Hampden Township. You will provide therapy for students with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive disorders, and develop IEPs to support student growth.

In this role you will assess, document progress, educate families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to restore or maintain student well-being. A Master’s degree and state SLP license are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Experience in acute care or rehabilitation preferred
• Experience with autism preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical assessments; identify client needs.
• Document, prepare/revise IEPs, progress notes, and clinical records.
• Analyze client needs and provide care per IEP.
• Meet continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board.
• Provide plans and evaluations for speech, language, cognition and swallowing disorders; maintain records.
• Educate client/family on communication and IEP plans through family members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.

Position Details

We are looking for a licensed professional who provides therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of clients/students with speech, language, hearing, oral motor, swallowing and cognitive disorders. Plans coordinated care to clients/students in grades K-12+. Plans, implements and evaluates client/student IEP plans to restore or maintain client/student well-being. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team.

Job Description

• Performs clinical assessments; identifies clients needs.
• Document, prepare/revises and completes an individualized education plan (IEP), progress notes, and other clinical record documentation on an ongoing basis.
• Analyze client needs and administer appropriate care as outlined in the IEP.
• Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the agency/licensing board.
• Provides appropriate plan, treatment and evaluation for speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders with appropriate tests and measurements. Maintain pertinent records of specific tests performed and progress made.
• Educate client/family concerning patient deficits, ways to facilitate communication and appropriate IEP plans through family members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team.
