Job summary

Merakey in Pennsylvania is seeking a Direct Support Professional to deliverAdult Day Program activities and foster cognitive, social, and independent living skills for individuals with developmental disabilities.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, creativity, and strong organizational abilities as you implement programs across areas and work with a Program Director. Compensation starts at $18/hr with higher rates for degrees and enhanced pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; an Associate's with IDD experience is acceptable.
• Valid and current driver's license.
• Age 18 or older.
• Flexibility, organizational skills and creativity are required.
• Experience working with individuals with IDD.

Responsibilities

• Provide Adult Day Program activities including vocational training and independent living skills.
• Implement programs across program areas on a substitute basis.
• Work under supervision of the Program Director.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

• This is professional work providing Adult Day Program activities (i.e., vocational training, refinement of independent living skills, cognitive development, social skills, appropriate use of leisure time, mobility, sensory and perceptual motor skills, etc.) for Individuals with developmental disabilities.
• A high degree of flexibility, organizational skills and creativity is required of this employee. This employee is responsible for implementing programs on a substitute basis in all program areas.
• Work performance will be directed by the Program Director.

Earn $18/hour in this position with a high school diploma or $20/hour with a college degree. An additional $2/hour is offered with the selection of our enhanced pay program.
