Job summary

LISC Virginia, part of Local Initiatives Support Corporation, is seeking an Assistant Program Officer to support community development initiatives, grantmaking, and stakeholder engagement across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in public/nonprofit administration or urban studies.
• 2–4 years in community development, program coordination, or administrative support.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital file management systems.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse partners and funders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate LISC Virginia's network of Financial Opportunity Centers and related partners with strategic guidance, training, and capacity building.
• Foster relationships with workforce development, economic mobility, housing, and community partners to advance Virginia initiatives.
• Plan and deliver workshops, conferences, and technical assistance for partners focused on financial stability and wealth-building initiatives.
• Support grant-funded initiatives, including grants management, compliance monitoring, and reporting requirements.
• Partner with organizations to strengthen program design, implementation, and impact measurement.
• Travel within Virginia and periodically outside the Commonwealth for engagement and national activities.
