Job summary

The Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) seeks a Program Director for Columbus House Group Home in New Jersey. The role leads staff, oversees ISP coordination with the Support Coordinator, and ensures high-quality residential services for adults with developmental disabilities.

The position requires strong supervision, administrative leadership, and adherence to Medicaid; it combines program management with direct care duties in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• B.A. in Special Education or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years supervisory experience required.
• One year of experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Must have a drivers license valid in New Jersey and driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, supervise and schedule staff to maintain quality of life for residents.
• Plan and coordinate Individualized Service Plans (ISP) with the Support Coordinator and supervise ISP implementation and documentation.
• Oversee payroll, petty cash and client fund reports and ensure timely documentation and Medicaid-related notes.
• Manage home operations, including facility/vehicle maintenance and health issues liaison.
• Provide direct care as needed and model professional conduct for residential staff.
• Coordinate with agency administration and external partners for inspections and compliance.
