Job summary

The Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD) at Catholic Charities in New Jersey seeks a Direct Support Professional - Program Assistant to join our group homes. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with evening and weekend shifts and pays $23.44 per hour.

You will partner with leadership to provide quality services, supervise residential staff, manage meals, activities, medications, and required documentation, while ensuring safety and compliance for residents.

Qualifications

• One year experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and/or a related degree preferred.
• High School/GED diploma required.
• Valid NJ driver's license with <= 5 points.
• Willingness to drive agency vehicles to transport recipients.
• Ability to meet CPR/First Aid physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Program Director to provide quality services in group homes.
• Work with Director/Associate Director in supervision and training of residential counselors.
• Prepare menus, grocery lists and food shopping; manage meals.
• Schedule activities, monitor medications and coordinate with pharmacy.
• Maintain health and clothing needs; ensure agency/government standards.
• Complete documentation; cooperate with administration and DHS/inspections.
• Share on‑call responsibilities with Director and Associate Director.
