Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is seeking a Program Director for the Next Steps Day Treatment Program. The role oversees daily operations, supervision, and compliance with grant and regulatory requirements.

The position requires a bachelor’s in a social service field; a master’s is preferred. CADC certification or progression toward it within 18 months is required, with LPC/LCPC or LSW/LCSW/LPHA credentials preferred. Strong leadership and EHR skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social service field is required.
  • Master’s degree in social services is preferred.
  • CADC or ability to obtain CADC within 18 months of hire is required.
  • LPC/LCPC or LSW/LCSW/LPHA credentials are preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in substance use with increasing responsibility is preferred.
  • Proficiency in EHR documentation and review is preferred.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related software.
  • Background check clearance is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
  • Valid IL liability insurance coverage is required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee curriculum delivery to clients and scheduling of clinical services.
  • Ensure reporting, productivity, and service deliverables meet grant and funding requirements.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, and evaluation for staff.
  • Review written and EHR documentation to ensure compliance with SUPR and Part 2060.
  • Uphold NASW Code of Ethics in treatment and interactions.
  • Maintain professional conduct and integrity with clients and colleagues.

LSSI is hiring a full-time Program Director, Monday through Friday at the Next Steps Day Treatment Program. Responsible for supervising the daily operations and delivery of substance use services as well as providing support oversight to the program. Also responsible for ensuring compliance with grant, regulatory, and funding entities.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee curriculum delivery to clients and the scheduling of clinical services.
  • Ensure reporting, productivity, and service deliverable requirements identified by LSSI, SUPR, SOR Grant, and funding bodies are met.
  • Provide direct supervision, training, support, review, and evaluation for assigned staff.
  • Review both written and EHR documentation to ensure compliance with SUPR and Part 2060.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards of treatment, including NASW Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social service field required.
  • Master’s degree in a social service field preferred.
  • CADC or ability to obtain a CADC within 18 months of date of hire required.
  • LPC/LCPC or LSW/LCSW/LPHA preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in substance use filed with increasing levels of responsibility preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in EHR documentation and review preferred.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Valid driver’s license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage required.
