Kilbarchan IRTS (Intensive Residential Treatment Service Unit) in Paterson, NJ provides short-term emergency placement for adolescent boys and girls, including clinical and psychiatric evaluations and discharge planning. The site is currently hiring for a Program Director.

The Program Director will be expected to run a small 6-bed unit. They will supervise the clinical team as well as residential staff. They must be able to implement programming and be responsible for contract requirements. They will ensure all staff are up to date on required training and work closely with families and clients.

Job Duties:

1. Lead the interdisciplinary team; assessing treatment needs; coordinating treatment activities and input and/or developing treatment plans.
2. Mentor other staff members on the therapeutic approach and provide clinical supervision.
3. Ensure clinical supervision is provided to all clinical staff.
4. Make recommendations in hiring, disciplinary action, promotion, and termination.
5. Develop yearly program goals and objectives geared at program enhancement.
6. Provide supervision and consultation to both licensed and certified social workers or registered nurses (supervision responsibilities are according to licensure).
7. Responsible for staff development by ensuring coordination and completion of in-service training, training required by licensing agencies, and Core Competency training.
8. Must cooperate with the licensee and the applicable State department or division licensing unit with any legally mandated inspections or investigations.

Job Requirements:

1. 2-3 years of experience working with adolescent populations, specifically psychiatric populations.
2. Current NJ LCSW or LPC.
3. Master’s Degree.
4. A team player with great communication skills.
5. Time management and organization skills.
6. Familiarity with Nurtured Heart Approach is a plus.
