Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks Part-time Program Coordinators for the Norristown After School Program. Responsibilities include coordinating after-school activities, supervising staff, and maintaining program quality across multiple sites in the Norristown Area School District.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in education or related fields, experience with school-age students, and ability to engage bilingual and/or bicultural families.

• Experience with curriculum development, educational program design, or implementation preferred.
• Experience with grant-funded educational or youth development programs preferred.
• Experience with budget development or fiscal monitoring preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate educational or youth development programming preferred.
• Proficiency with computer applications, data systems, and electronic reporting tools required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of assigned after-school programs.
• Develop and support high-quality academic, enrichment, STEAM, recreational, and student support programming aligned with school-day priorities and student needs.
• Coordinate program schedules, staffing, activities, materials, transportation, and other operational requirements to ensure effective and consistent implementation across sites.
• Supervise, support, and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to assigned Student Support Specialists and Instructional Assistants.
• Assist with staff recruitment, selection, orientation, training, scheduling, development, and performance concerns.
• Coordinate student, parent, and family engagement activities and promote culturally and linguistically responsive communication and partnerships.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with school districts, administrators, teachers, community organizations, service providers, and other partners to support program goals and expand opportunities for students and families.
• Coordinate program data collection, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and compliance requirements, using data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Assist with annual budget development, purchasing, resource allocation, grant applications, continuation applications, monitoring activities, and related documentation in accordance with organizational and grant requirements.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Program Supervisor.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in education, human services, social services, public administration, or a related field

At the present time, vacancies exist for Part-time Program Coordinators within the Norristown After School Program, Student Services Division of the CCIU. Currently, there are multiple openings working with elementary and middle school age students, and supporting English Language Learners and/or academic support students.

*The employee may be required to travel between program sites and community partner locations.

Schedule:
Three days a week (TBD): October-April; 2 hours per day

Hourly Rate (2026-2027 School Year):
Project Band 14: $35.38 -$44.22 per hour
Placement on scale commensurate with years of experience in a relevant position
