Job summary

Chester County Intermediate Unit is seeking part-time Instructional Assistants for the Norristown After School Program within the Student Services Division. Vacancies exist for elementary and middle school students, with emphasis on supporting English Language Learners and/or academic support students.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, providing homework help, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience working with bilingual/bicultural students preferred.
• Experience working with the applicable age group preferred.
• Computer and current technology knowledge required.
• Must have Act 33 and 34 clearances and federal criminal history background check.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

At the present time, vacancies exist for Part-time Instructional Assistants within the Norristown After School Program, Student Services Division of the CCIU. Currently, there are multiple openings working with elementary and middle school age students, and supporting English Language Learners and/or academic support students.

Locations:

• Davenport Elementary School and Marshall Street Elementary School
• Blockson, ENMS, and ESTLA Middle School

Three days a week (TBD)

3:30pm - 5:30pm (Middle School), 4:00pm-5:30pm (Elementary)

Hourly Rate (2026-2027 School Year):

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you to reference.

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $19.38
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $21.29
• 14 - 17 yrs experience = $23.19
• 18 - 25 yrs experience = $25.11
• *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $19.38
• *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $23.19
