Job summary

Austin Equity and Inclusion – Human Rights Division is seeking a Program Coordinator to coordinate community activities and programs, under supervision or independently. You will work across departments and with community partners to address systemic barriers and advance equity.

The ideal candidate has experience managing projects, engaging diverse stakeholders, analyzing information for policy development, and translating community input into actionable programs and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job and three years of related experience.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four years.
• Strong communication and public engagement skills.
• Ability to analyze data and support policy development.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements a variety of programs, projects and activities.
• Coordinates with organizations to address community needs.
• Conducts needs assessments with residents and groups.
• Collaborates with organizations to plan and develop programs.
• Researches funding sources and prepares reports.
• Represents the City before community groups, businesses, and media.
• Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers.
• Assists in budgeting and planning.
• Contributes to long-range plans and operating policies.
• Ensures compliance with City policies.
