The Town of Weston is seeking a organized, creative Program & Communications Coordinator at the Senior Center. This part-time role supports programs, communications, and outreach for seniors, coordinating newsletters, the Center’s website, social media, and email communications.

Responsibilities include creating newsletters, managing calendars, planning events, and providing helpful customer service to participants and the public. Evening/weekend involvement may be required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of responsible recreation or senior program experience, or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and training.
  • Strong writing, verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with computer applications used for newsletter publishing, flyer design, website content management, email marketing, and social media, with the ability to learn new digital content and design tools.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and an ability to manage administrative processes and work effectively with coworkers and the public.

  • Develop and implement the Senior Center’s social media plan and manage electronic communications and distribution lists, including engagement metrics.
  • Manage Senior Center website content and maintain accurate, current, and organized information.
  • Create and distribute the weekly email bulletin and develop communication strategies for Senior Center programs, events, and activities.
  • Assist with planning and implementing programs, trips, special events, fundraising activities, and other services for older adults.
  • Provide welcoming and responsive customer service to Center participants, visitors, and the public in person, by telephone, and by email.
  • Enter and retrieve participant demographic and payment information in the Center’s membership and program management system.
  • Support program and event setup, cleanup, and smooth daily operations; monitor programs and help maintain a clean, organized, and safe Senior Center environment.
  • Assist with researching, planning, scheduling, and confirming details for programs, trips, and events; chaperone trips as assigned.
  • Participate in short- and long-term program planning and collaborate with staff to support partnerships and effective service delivery.

Position Summary

The Town of Weston is seeking an organized, creative, and service-oriented employee to serve as Program & Communications Coordinator at the Senior Center. Special Requirements

Evening and weekend events may be required. CPR, First Aid, and mandated Elder Abuse and Neglect certifications must be obtained within three months of appointment and maintained as required. The position may require travel, and the incumbent must possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
