Job summary

Orange County Public Schools in Orlando seeks a capable paraprofessional to support teachers and students in assigned programs at our Juvenile Detention Center.

You will monitor student behavior, maintain records, assist with curriculum, and communicate with parents and staff. Qualifications include an associate degree or 60 college credits, 3 years applicable experience, and ParaPro exam requirement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher; or at least sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited institution with three years relevant experience.
• ParaPro Certification or equivalent requirement; official transcripts may be requested to validate education and credentials.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and supervisors with program curriculum, activities, and supervision.
• Monitor and support student behavior during program activities to ensure safety and compliance.
• Maintain and organize attendance, student records, and program documentation; distribute reports as needed.
• Communicate with parents, district staff, and community partners regarding program activities and student progress.
• Assist with recruitment and coordination for program participants when applicable.
