Orange County Public Schools seeks a paraprofessional to support teachers and students in an educational setting, under supervision, providing instructional and developmental assistance to students with special needs. You will help with daily living skills, and assist in preparing materials and activities.

You will collaborate with certified staff, monitor behavior, manage transitions, and ensure safety during classroom and activity periods.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher; or at least sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited institution.
• Paraprofessional certification exam can substitute for education.
• Ability to fulfill dexterity and physical requirements; work with school age children; prior vocational/childcare experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Respond to customers and stakeholders courteously and empathetically.
• Assist students with instructional, vocational, and developmental activities for special needs.
• Help with transportation and transfers for students (e.g., bus to classroom).
• Assist with gross and fine motor activities and daily living skills.
• Monitor and chart student behavior; document changes and incidents.
• Assist in lesson planning and material preparation; support teachers as needed.
• Maintain records and assist with classroom supervision and safety.
