Job summary

FLVS in Ocala, FL is seeking a Paraprofessional for the Florida Scholars Academy on-site. You will support instructors, counselors, and students within the juvenile justice system, helping create an inclusive learning environment and providing individualized assistance.

The role emphasizes classroom management, feedback to students, record-keeping, and collaboration with staff. A two-year college education, or equivalent, plus one year of experience and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college
• Two years of education from an accredited college or passing CLAST/Praxis or equivalent
• One year of relevant experience
• Experience with special needs students preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to instructors and students in the juvenile justice system.
• Assist with classroom management and individualized student support.
• Deliver feedback and maintain records per state statutes.
• Communicate with students, parents/guardians, and professionals.
• Assist with student intake/exit, proctor exams, and monitor progress.
• Maintain curriculum understanding and school goals.
• Work on-site at the assigned facility as needed.
