Job summary

• Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic in a structured facility environment.

• Staff may support multiple students or classrooms due to frequent student movement.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group academic support to students.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.

• Support students’ emotional and social development with compassion and patience.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to facility policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs.

The Aptus Group is looking for a committed Paraprofessional to work in a classroom setting at a juvenile detention facility in the San Dimas, CA area. As a Paraprofessional you will play an important role in supporting incarcerated adolescents with their academic and personal growth. Requirements

• Comfortable working in a juvenile court school setting with students ages 12-19 years of age who have behavior challenges
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred.
• 6 months of experience working with youth in educational settings is preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic in a structured facility environment.
• Passionate about working with youth impacted by trauma and juvenile justice involvement
• Interested in pursuing a career in education, social work, counseling, juvenile justice, or related fields
