Job summary

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley in the Camden area is seeking a dependable Program Assistant to join our Behavioral Health and Reentry Services team. This hands-on role helps ensure the safe, respectful operation of residential facilities and supports clients as they rebuild toward independence.

You’ll perform rounds, coordinate orientations, inspections, and sign-ins; monitor medications and safety procedures; document incidents; assist case management; greet visitors; and support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Experience in human services is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and ability to stay calm and organized.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly facility rounds, monitor census, and ensure safety compliance.
• Coordinate new client orientation, pass procedures, and curfew tracking.
• Perform client room and facility inspections, search procedures, and safety checks.
• Schedule and log medical appointments and meals; notify appropriate staff.
• Monitor client medication procedures and record accordingly.
• Document incidents, disciplinary actions, and maintain daily operational logs.
• Support case management and ensure adherence to operational and security procedures.
• Greet and screen visitors, manage sign-ins, and operate security equipment.
• Conduct drug and alcohol screenings as needed and report findings.
• Assist with clerical tasks and support special programming and training requirements.
