Job summary

Priority Dispatch Corp. is seeking a Program Assistant to support the Benefits Access office programs. The role emphasizes identifying, enrolling, and retaining participants with strong communication and data management to ensure program success.

You will coordinate with public, private, and community providers, monitor outcomes, maintain files, and assist with SNAP/Food Stamp processing. Travel between sites and event coordination are required.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of customer service experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with participants and partners.
  • Self-starter who works well in a team.
  • Experience in anti-hunger, nutrition, or health programs preferred.

Job description

The Program Assistant is a support-oriented position, The incumbent is responsible for ensuring program success through effective identification, recruitmentand retention of participants. The individual supports all programs administered from the Benefits Access office. The ideal candidate has an unwaveringcommitment to TCAH’s mission of hunger relief and food justice; excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer relationship managementskills, problem resolution, keen attention to detail, and a proven ability to maintain relationships with customers.Responsibilities• Identify, recruit, and enroll participants from the target population.• Assist in the development of long and short term goals for each participant.• Identify and build relationships with public, private, and community-service providers.• Collect and upload participants documents and records• Track, monitor, record and report all participants’ outcomes and payroll• Maintain participants’ files and records.• Travel from site to site to assist, monitor and evaluate participants.• Arrange and coordinate events/activities for participants.• Ensure Key Performance Indicators and program outcomes are achieved.• Perform customer intake for food services and screen for social services• Screen and interview clients for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)• Utilize Communicate with program partners to ensure compliance with program• Submit required documentation for Food Stamp processing• Mediate all customer concerns regarding delays, rejections or issues with the Food Stamp process.• Process current year tax applications (certification training provided).• Follow-up with clients based on referral and needs.• Educate clients about program offerings and sign clients up for various programs.• Act as program support for mobile units and liaise with partners as needed.• Create synergies and build linkage between TCAH and local communities.• Oversee a family-to-family program by communicating with an average of 35 families every month.• Provide timely and accurate reports and surveys on programs.• Passionate about the organizational mission to eliminate hunger and advance food justice• 2-3 years customer service experience• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in social work, psychology or related field• A self-starter with the ability to work as a team player and foster cooperative work• Ability to create, develop and maintain relationships with participants, partner agencies and other staff• Ability to ensure safety of participants - facilitate mediation/conflict resolution skills, track absent participants and program metrics• Ability to create and coordinate special events and field trips• Proactive, flexible and takes initiate independently• Experience working in anti-hunger, nutrition or health programs is preferred• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
