We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to help strengthen access to healthcare across Kansas. In this role, you’ll support multiple statewide grant programs and initiatives that enhance rural and primary care services. The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and passionate about improving healthcare access. You’ll manage and support key grants, including the Medicaid Flexibility, Small Hospital Improvement, State Office of Rural Health, and Primary Care Office programs. This position also develops tools, resources, and training materials to help providers maintain compliance with the State Loan Repayment and J-1 Conrad Visa Waiver Programs. Additionally, you’ll coordinate communications for the Primary Care and Rural Health listservs, assist with stakeholder outreach, and collaborate with partners and providers to ensure programs run efficiently and achieve their goals. Some travel is required for meetings, workshops, and events related to the grant programs you support.

Position Summary: The position (K0222347)
State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP): Plan and organize the preparation and promotion of State Loan Repayment Program grant application and reporting materials. Process SLRP applications, and track documentation and compliance for providers in the program. Gather and organize relevant documentation in files in order to keep program information up to date, and maintain communication with applicants and providers with updates and program questions as needed. Keep up-to-date information about the program on the KDHE website so providers can submit applications and access answers to frequently asked questions. Apprise Program Director and PC/RH Supervisor on potential changes and improvements to the program's process. Ensure that program-related documents are filed, scanned, and added to the PC/RH system.
Conrad J-1 Visa Waiver Program: Implement, modify, and maintain an application process, review methods, and monitoring mechanisms for the Conrad/State 30 J-1 Waiver Review Program. Screen and evaluate J-1 Waiver applications and submit appropriate waiver recommendations to the Department of State. Maintain communication with applicants and providers with updates and program questions as needed. Validate and provide National Interest Waivers and other J1-related letters of support. Ensure that program-related documents are filed, scanned, and added to the PC/RH system.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Primary Care Office (PCO): Support PCO staff in grant monitoring, compliance, implementation of activities, and reporting as assigned. Assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with program partners to achieve the goals and objectives of the PCO and SLRP grants. Work together with the Shortage Designation Program Analyst to utilize program data, ensuring SLRP and J-1 participants are serving in areas with the greatest need of health care professionals.
