Salary range is $75,000–$85,000 per year with comprehensive benefits; full-time, on-site at the main office in Trenton, NJ.

Qualifications

  • Maternal-child health experience and 3–5 years as a certified doula, midwife, or related role.
  • 3–5 years of experience supervising staff and coordinating services.
  • Familiarity with hospital settings and record-keeping systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; organizational capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing supervision to full-time and contracted doulas statewide.
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and service standards for the program.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of labor, birth, prenatal, and postnatal doula services.

Position Summary

The Program Administrator oversees the coordination, implementation, training, and evaluation of community-based doula services supporting individuals during prenatal, birth, and postnatal periods. This role ensures program effectiveness, compliance, and culturally responsive care delivery while supporting doulas and strengthening community partnerships to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

Education & Experience

  • Maternal-child health experience, 3 to 5 years of experience as a certified doula, midwife, labor and delivery nurse or other related experience supporting pregnant and post-partum women

Key Responsibilities

Program Coordination & Operations

  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to the full-time doula team and contracted doulas statewide
  • Maintain program policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Manage day-to-day operations of labor and birth and prenatal and postnatal doula services
  • Receive referrals for doula services; maintains a list of all referrals and matches pregnant women with doulas based on client's needs and doula's skill set.
  • Match new doulas with experienced doulas for mentoring and shadowing at prenatal and postpartum visits and births
  • Monitor program capacity, caseloads, and service delivery timelines
  • Provide phone support and be available for on-call coverage.
  • Daily check-in with doulas and meet with doulas weekly to review caseloads, prenatal visits, upcoming births, and postpartum visits.
  • Maintain a calendar of visits and births as well as a master spreadsheet with all required demographic data and birth outcomes.
  • Meet with program director at least twice per month to review program progress and challenges.
  • Review and approve all end of the month HR and Finance paperwork (PARs, Travel, Timecards, contractual invoices, POs, check requests, etc.) for each doula on staff.

Staff & Doula Support

  • Serve as a backup doula, as assigned, providing compassionate labor, birth, and postpartum support to clients when the primary doula is unavailable, while ensuring continuity of care and maintaining a calm, supportive environment.
  • Support with the recruitment, and onboarding of the community-based doulas
  • Coordinate training, continuing education, and supervision structures and clinical reviews
  • Support with the facilitation of team meetings and case reviews
  • Promote a trauma-informed and culturally responsive work environment

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation
  • Collect, maintain and analyze data
  • Provide support with reports

Community Engagement & Partnerships

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, clinics, and community-based organizations
  • Increase program awareness through targeted outreach and community engagement
  • Facilitate referrals and support coordination with partner agencies

Compliance & Funding

  • Support program compliance with grant requirements and applicable local and state regulations.
  • Assist with grant reporting, renewal processes, billing, and audit preparation.
  • Support budgeting and resource allocation efforts in collaboration with leadership
