Job summary

Texas A&M University Texarkana invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Associate/Full Professor of Electrical Engineering beginning Fall 2027. The candidate will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in robotics, control systems, and computer engineering, and will lead a productive research program.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering or closely related field.
• Proven teaching ability in electrical/computer engineering courses and laboratories.
• Active, impactful research with publications and external funding.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
• For appointment at Associate/Professor rank, prior service or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish an active scholarly program with peer‑reviewed publications and external funding.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in robotics, control systems, AI, and related areas.
• Develop courses and labs to support the 126‑credit-hour curriculum.
• Assess student learning and use results to improve courses and program effectiveness.
• Advise and mentor students on academic, research, and career matters.
• Contribute to curriculum development and ABET preparation for accreditation.
• Lead or support development and operation of teaching and research laboratories.
• Serve on division, college, and university committees.
