Job summary

Texas A&M University Texarkana invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Associate/Full Professor of Electrical Engineering who will contribute to both the Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering programs, with an anticipated start date of Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in robotics, control systems, and computer engineering; support student success through teaching,

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in electrical/computer engineering or closely related field.
• Evidence of effective teaching in EE/CE courses and labs.
• Active research record with potential for external funding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration.
• For Associate rank: 5+ years of distinguished service or equivalent.
• For Professor rank: 5+ years at Associate rank or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Establish an active scholarly program with peer‑reviewed publications and external funding.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in robotics, control systems, AI, and related areas.
• Develop courses, labs, and instructional materials for the 126‑credit curriculum.
• Assess student learning and use results to improve curricula and programs.
• Advise and mentor students on academics, research, and careers.
• Contribute to ABET accreditation activities and continuous program improvement.
• Lead or support development and improvements to teaching and research labs.
• Serve on division, college, and university committees.
