We are currently hiring a Professional Staff Nurse, ONC (RN) for the outpatient Radiation Oncology office at UPMC East in Monroeville, PA. This full-time position offers a $6,000 sign-on bonus and involves a regular daytime schedule, Monday through Friday, as a Radiation Oncology Nurse.

The Professional Staff Nurse, a registered nurse, is part of the care delivery team responsible for setting standards of care, managing and providing patient care activities, and demonstrating leadership, collaboration, and supervision. They establish collaborative relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the care continuum. The role also involves a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.

Responsibilities:

• Phone/Office triage, clinical assessments, symptom management, and procedure work.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts, identify opportunities for improvement, and utilize research to support clinical care enhancements.
• Engage in professional development, shared governance, and support change initiatives to improve care quality and practice environment.
• Develop productive relationships internally and externally, demonstrating accountability, enthusiasm, and cultural awareness.
• Apply adult learning principles to educate patients, families, students, and staff, providing detailed teaching and supporting their development.
• Use the nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment, formulate daily goals, and develop holistic plans of care that involve patients as partners.
