Esri in Redlands, CA, invites an undergraduate or graduate student to join as a Professional Services Technical Consulting Intern. You'll gain practical experience with GIS, ArcGIS products, and enterprise IT practices while supporting customer-focused projects.
You'll collaborate with mentors, contribute to migrations, apply GIS and programming skills, and explore AI-enabled geospatial workflows. The internship is onsite for 12 weeks starting May/June 2027.
As a Professional Services Technical Consulting Intern at Esri, you will work with teams that help customers solve complex problems with geospatial technology. You will gain practical experience using GIS, ArcGIS products, consulting methods, and enterprise services while supporting mission-driven work across industries.
Collaborate with mentors and team members to enable user success through effective implementation and application of ArcGIS.
Support strategic projects across industries such as state and local government, natural resources, utilities, and commercial organizations.
Learn how technical consulting teams connect customer needs, GIS workflows, and enterprise technology solutions.
Use Esri products and GIS methods to support real customer and implementation work.
Navigate complex enterprise IT environments by applying proven system engineering practices across Windows, Linux, cloud, and containerized deployments.
Evaluate emerging AI solutions, integrate AI tools into enterprise workflows, and guide customers on adopting AI-enabled geospatial and IT solutions securely and effectively.
Build impactful and innovative solutions that help users make better decisions.
Support migration strategies and solution planning for ArcGIS implementations.
Apply GIS, spatial analysis, cartography, databases, or application-development concepts to practical user challenges.
Explore IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, and system architecture.
Leverage AI-driven technologies, including generative AI and machine learning, to enable data-informed decision-making.
Hands-on experience in GIS consulting, technical problem solving, and enterprise services.
Exposure to ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, GIS application development, databases, spatial analysis, cartography, and enterprise IT environments.

Are currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate, graduate, or PhD program at a university in the United States, majoring in GIS, geography, computer science, environmental studies, or a related field graduating in 2027 or 2028.
For undergraduate students, are in junior or senior standing.
Have knowledge of Esri products, GIS application development, commercial software development, GIS databases, spatial analysis, and/or cartography.
Bring programming or scripting experience with Python, or an interest in building those skills through real project work.
Can complete a consecutive, onsite 12-week internship beginning in May or June 2027.

The pay range for this internship takes into account education level and previous relevant work experience, including specialized skill sets. Interns who meet minimum qualifications during their internship may also qualify for 401(k) and profit share. A reasonable estimate of the base pay range is $29-$33.
