As a Systems Engineer Intern at Esri, you will work with experienced professionals to strengthen your understanding of systems engineering in an enterprise IT environment. You will contribute to cloud, automation, deployment, monitoring, and AI-enabled solutions used by Esri employees.
Design, implement, and maintain resources in Esri’s private cloud or public cloud environments.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.
Automate resource deployments using infrastructure as code.
Operate and improve logging, monitoring, and alerting tools.
Explore large language model use cases that improve user interactions, automate documentation, or streamline business workflows.
Build or improve automated deployment using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Helm or GitHub Actions.
Create or refine monitoring, logging, and alerting for an internal system or service.
Support a cloud resource configuration, testing, or documentation project.
Prototype a responsible large language model use case for an internal workflow.
Cloud infrastructure, systems administration, and enterprise operations.
Continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
Automation with Python or PowerShell and version control with Git.
Monitoring, logging, alerting, and practical AI-enabled workflow design.
Are currently enrolled in a four-year bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program at a university in the United States, majoring in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Systems Administration, or a related field graduating in 2027 or 2028.
For undergraduate students, are in junior or senior standing.
Preferably expect to graduate in 2027.
Have experience with JavaScript, CSS, HTML, MongoDB, and REST APIs.
Have experience configuring Linux and/or Windows systems.
Can write Python or PowerShell and have working knowledge of Git.
Cloud experience is preferred, including AWS and/or Azure.
Can complete a consecutive, onsite 12-week internship beginning in May or June 2027.

The pay range for this internship takes into account education level and previous relevant work experience, including specialized skill sets. Interns who meet minimum qualifications during their internship may also qualify for 401(k) and profit share. A reasonable estimate of the base pay range is $30-$34ph.
