Join Our Team as a Professional Land Surveyor at R. Joe Harris & Associates, Inc.

We are seeking a Professional Land Surveyor or a Land Surveyor in Training to join our team. This position offers a great opportunity for both experienced surveyors and those working toward full licensure to grow their careers in a collaborative and professional environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys.
• Utilize GPS, total stations, and other modern surveying technology for data collection and analysis.
• Prepare and review survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure project success.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
• Mentor and guide field survey crews and technicians.
• Assist with preparing and managing survey proposals, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications & Requirements

For PLS Candidates:

• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (required).
• 3+ years of experience in land surveying, including leadership responsibilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or other survey software.

For LSIT Candidates:

• Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) certification (required or in progress).
• 2+ years of field or office surveying experience preferred.
• Ability to work toward obtaining a PLS license within a reasonable timeframe.

General Requirements for Both:

• Strong knowledge of GPS, total stations, and field data collection methods.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, and boundary records.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
