Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an entry-level production operator in Arkansas. You will set up and operate production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble products while following SOPs and quality metrics.

The role requires training in machine operation, reading blueprints, and adherence to safety policies. You will document production activities and may work varied shifts in a climate-controlled facility in the United States.

Qualifications

• Attending vocational/technical school or training; no prior experience required.
• Technical training degree preferred; discipline/major: technical training.
• Knowledge and abilities: machine operation, problem solving, safety, reading blueprints/diagrams.

Job Summary

• Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation
• Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications
• Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Essential Functions

• Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
• Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
• Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
• Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
• Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.

Required Qualifications

Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree

Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred

• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
