Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to set up and operate automated equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You will monitor gauges and controls, perform routine maintenance, and report malfunctions to ensure product quality and safety.

Job Summary

Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation | Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications | Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment | Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge, skills & abilities: Written communication skills. Ability to gather and document information. Ability to lift/move heavy objects. Mechanical knowledge. Safety knowledge.

Physical Requirements

• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.

Travel Requirements

• No or very little travel likely.
