Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Arkansas is seeking a production operator to set up and operate automatic and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment. You will follow SOPs, monitor quality, and maintain production records while ensuring safety guidelines are met.

You will analyze machinery, report malfunctions, and assist with continuous improvement efforts. The role requires the ability to work with minimal supervision and lift up to 45 pounds, with possible shifts outside

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce products.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
• Prepares and maintains required records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Follows established guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
• Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
• Establishes a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
• Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.

Job Summary

Sets up and operates automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation | Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications | Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment | Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
Works with close supervision
Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Physical Requirements

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
May need to stand for long periods of time.
Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
May be requested to work a different shift.
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
This position is Safety-Sensitive.
