Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a plant operator at the Alpena Cement Plant in Michigan. The role requires multitasking across shifts, performing mechanical work and inspections, and handling physical tasks.

The job may require working overtime and weekends as schedules dictate. You will identify environmental issues, provide troubleshooting recommendations, ensure safety and quality throughout the process, and operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers.

Qualifications

• Associates/Technical Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and correct environmental issues noted during daily shift operations.
• Provide troubleshooting and process changes recommendations based on test results.
• Perform shift and pre-start inspections and ensure safety or maintenance issues on equipment are addressed.
• Ensure quality parameters throughout every step of processes per Amrize and ASTM guidelines.
• Measure silos as needed.
• Maintain raw material flow in hoppers, tanks and feeders; manually clear blockages when needed.
• Clean around raw material hoppers, coke tunnel, and finish mill feeders as required.
• Work any shift, including weekends and paid holidays.
• Use safe work practices and report hazardous conditions.
